Tour de France

There are so many things that are different this year because of the pandemic that it is almost hard to know what is going on around us including in professional sports. The Olympics were postponed a year, the playoffs for Basketball and Hockey are going on now, Golf and Tennis are back at it with no fans (like most sports) and the Tour de France is starting today, the first time it has begun in late August since it started over 100 years ago.  In every one of these events, we are all hoping that the athletes will be safe.  For the Tour there will be some spectators, but nothing like in the past.  And amidst all of this, we see that sports continue on, even with great modification, because we like to see athletes perform at the highest level.  There is something very appealing about sports that is hard to explain and so we keep pushing to keep them relevant and part of our journey.  We will get back to spectators at sporting events at some point, for now, let’s keep cheering on the athletes and support them as they aim to do the best they can in spite of the crazy circumstances.

Loving life when I get to watch the Tour de France
