Is it really possible that there have been 145 mass shootings since the beginning of the year in the U.S.? We talk about the essence of our journey in this blog and nowhere does it contemplate tragedies at any level, let alone at this horrific level. We hear the pathetic excuses for not wanting to do anything about this preventable epidemic. And we cannot acquiesce to such irrational thinking. There is nowhere on the planet, even in war zones, that has this kind of tragic situation. We have to do something, and it needs to start with each of us, caring about each other, working to provide an opportunity for everyone, supporting those in need, reaching out when help is needed, and so much more. With a baseline of caring and empathy, we can then work to address the systemic issues we have in this country relating to guns and mass shootings. For the moment, prayers and thoughts for all who have suffered or lost in these shootings. We care and we will rally to help stem this terrible red tide.
