The same but different

There is a way of thinking that says that there is no past or future, just the present. And there are sometimes when on our journey time seems to go fast and others when it goes slowly taking us conceivably from past to present?  Yet, even when we feel like we are waiting a long time for the next stage of the journey, it arrives, and it feels as if it did not take that long.  And so, it is, after 13 months I am back on an airplane, on a business trip, a seemingly all familiar place and yet a different feeling.  Could it have really been 13 months?  Seems like forever ago and like yesterday at the same time.  Underlying it all, though, the feeling that the exploration that happens as we travel needed to happen again.  We are nomadic by nature and captivity is just not becoming of us.  It was just a matter of time before the wings spread and the destination arrived; far enough to know it felt different and yet the same in the past, present, and future.
