On a daily basis,we can take for granted the beauty of the natural resources that we are surrounded by. We can just drive by forests or coast lines and forget how precious these areas are and how we need to protect them at all costs – they cannot be replaced, and they really do matter. And in keeping with this theme the Forest Service has closed all national forests in California till September 17th to protect visitors and this special land from the threat of wildfires. It is a rare move but one that is required in these dangerously hot and dry conditions. Let’s use this situation as a reminder that as the earth heats up with the effects of global warming that we must take care and be extremely careful with our impact on the forests and nature more broadly. We must protect and minimize our impact. We only have one earth, and we need it around for generations to come.
