We like to “color in the lines” because it makes achieving our goals more straightforward. Less risk, less variability, and less to think about. When we stay on course and execute well, we get what we set out to do. It all makes perfect sense. Yet, there is a pull that we will all feel from time to time to “color outside the lines”, to go beyond the boundaries of what we usually do, to do different and feel different. And when this happens it is crucial to seize the moment and follow the other path that takes us beyond the boundary. We open the aperture, we feel something new, and we benefit in ways that we don’t anticipate or expect. A fun journey, it is!
