The sound of thunder

There are some parts of nature that require little learning to understand them.  We innately tune in to what is going on and we perk up when something either does not feel right or our signaling system raises the “warning flag”.  It could be a strong wind, a bit of rain, the waves crashing on the beach, a river running, lightning brightening the sky, or the incredible sound of thunder in the distance.  It is clear, by the depth of the sound of a thundercloud or the crackling that precedes a lightning strike, how close the thunder is.  We are captivated by the sounds as we wait eagerly for the next round of thunder, not exactly sure what to expect but enjoying every loud clap and roar of the thunder knowing that the energy of such a wonder of nature is palpable and mesmerizing.  Here’s to appreciating the power of nature and the way that we get to experience it.

Loving life when I listen to the thunder
