May Day

Not sure what it is that made me remember that May 1 is also known as May Day.  And so I did some research and what I found is that May 1st might just have more holidays associated with it than any other day of the year. It’s a celebration of Spring. It’s a day of political protests. It’s a neopagan festival, a saint’s feast day, and a day for organized labor. In many countries, it is a national holiday. And in honor of the day there were demonstrations in Los Angeles, San Jose and as far away as Bangladesh.  And as there were no real references to THPL, neither thematically, or in spirit I thought I would turn our focus to the goals we set for ourselves in 2013 and just leave it at that.

BTW - can you believe it is already May? – four months of 2013 are completed (boy does time fly).  What better time to take a moment to inventory your progress against your 2013 goals.  How are you doing? If you are ahead are you ready to push up the goal? Make it harder to achieve?  And if you are not on track do you have a plan to get back on track?  My progress against my 2013  goals is as follows:

Life – write a Blog, coach a few new budding athletes, learn how to meditate

Q1 – Blog writing continues – over 250 readers, I like the writing and have changed up the format from time to time to keep the interest level there

Coaching five athletes – great progress, a few of my athletes have made great progress and have some great achievements already in 2013

Meditating – still not getting it done – Gave it one try – it was nice but I am not really committed to this one.

Learning – watch 1,000 Ted videos, learn more about the Education industry,

Q1 YTD, watched a total of 75 TED videos in April, gets me to 225 YTD, behind by 70 videos, I caught up  bit but not enough

Education industry learning is growing and trending up

Fitness – Run 2,000 miles, run a 50 mile ultra-marathon, complete my fifth Ironman and do 75,000 pushups

YTD Through April 30 - 902 miles – ran 224 in the month of April –it has me ahead of my goal by 207 miles – If I keep up this pace I might raise the goal to 2,500

Pushups – YTD 30,445 – Feeling stronger than ever.  Ahead of schedule – might be able to get to 100k

Races are still to come – July 27 for the 50 miler and September 9thfor the ironman

Loving life, that’s all

Ciao
