Small Change Big Impact

If ever you have the opportunity to visit Yellowstone National Park you should.  There are so many elements that make it remarkable, Old Faithful, waterfalls, and an array of wildlife that has more diversity than any zoo you could visit.  And now it is even more beautiful than ever – and it came from a seemingly small change that had a very big impact.  After an absence of nearly 70 years wolves were reintroduced into the park about six years ago and a “trophic cascade” ensued.  In the category of Learning a Tropic Cascade is an ecological phenomenon triggered by the addition or removal of top predators involving reciprocal changes in the relative populations of predator and prey through a food chaining which often results in dramatic changes in the related ecosystem and nutrient cycling.  But rather than try to explain all that happened after the wolves were re-introduced I suggest you watch this video and see that we can indeed make, even an amazing place, like Yellowstone an even better place than it was before – a THPL location for sure
