Progress to Date

We have 115 days completed in 2015, 250 days to go, almost a third of the year completed.  And what better time to take stock of how the year is going and how progress is being made on our THPL journey.  I am not sure about how anyone else feels but it does seem to me that the year is going by quickly.  And with only two thirds of the year remaining it is important that we take a moment to check point our progress.  How are we doing with Life, Learning and Fitness?  Are we meeting our goals?  Are the goals still relevant?

Check points are important – there are enough distractions all around us that we need to remind ourselves that to achieve our goals we have to stay true to them.  The initial commitments we made are admirable but mean little if we do not execute or follow up.  The goodness is that this is not meant to be a punitive assessment.  Rather a moment to reflect – did I run the miles I committed, did I read as much as planned, did I volunteer enough hours.  Whatever the measure – it is important to measure it.  A simple rule, yet profound when we are aiming to improve our performance and live a more fulfilled life.  This “state” requires that we follow through, that we believe our success lies in getting done what we commit to – not just adding more commitments to our life.  So, on a mostly non-descript day take a moment to see how you feel about your THPL journey and if you like what you find – keep doing it…..and if not then think about what you can do differently to get it where you want it to be.  A worthwhile task for sure.

Loving life, when taking measure of my progress
