Every day we make decisions about what we eat and when on the THPL journey our decisions have a big impact. The better we eat the better our brain functions, the better our physical performance, and even better our emotional sense and feeling about ourselves. Often, though, as we think about what we should, or should not eat, we think about what it is we would give up. Rather how about we think about how good it is to bring different foods in to our diet – essentially adding, not taking away. It can start with more plant-based foods, more protein, more vitamins – it can come together with vegetables at the center of our plate and all good things together. Extending what we eat in this way helps build a nutrient-dense, anti-inflammatory diet. It helps our body repair itself and it makes us better suited for training and all other activities. Maybe being “granola” is not a bad thing after all.
