Back in the US – the trip to Australia just a memory. So many things to take away from a trip like this. The one most striking, was not the Sydney Opera House, nor beach road in Melbourne, rather it was found in the electrical plug adapter that I purchased when in MelbourneWhen I landed I realized I forgot my plug adapters. Knowing the significance of being unable to power my devices I went in search of the adaptor. I quickly found the “hardware” and when I opened the package I was stuck by the labeling on the plug. It stated in all Caps – AUSTRALIA. I was blown away, I have so many plug adaptors, maybe a hundred, none of them easy to discern from the other. No obvious marking, just some obscure lettering system that even Google has a hard time making sense of. So, why did it take going 10,000 miles away to find the simplest of solutions. Just write the country name on the adaptor and everything works – no mistakes, no wondering – only “perfection” in action. From the simplest decision came the most profound solution. Maybe we can look for opportunities to do that which is simple and obvious that makes it easy to use something. Imagine what a THPL life would be like if everything was this easy to understand.
