Leave it on the mountain

Today was the conclusion of the Giro di Italia.  21 stages of racing, up mountains, sprinting through small towns and windy roads, riding through snow and rain, mile after mile of hard riding.  The experience of riding in a grand tour to difficult to imagine.  And at the end of a race of thousands of kilometers it came down to  something like 45 seconds.  At the start of the penultimate day the question was would Vincenzo Nibali, the local favorite, make the move required to win.  For hours it was not obvious that it would happen.  And then the moment came, Nibali rose out of the saddle and stamped his way to the top of the stage, hard pedal stroke after hard pedal stroke, his legs screaming but there was to be no quit and the results speak for themselves.  His method for winning described in a way like how we think about what THPL can do for us- when it gives us the freedom to go for it, to do as Nibali stated, "this morning when I started, I wasn't afraid to win and I wasn't afraid to lose," he was just committed to give it all that had.  As the saying goes – to leave it all on the mountain.  And he did- and it paid off – and wow was it exciting.  How many times do we come to a point when we have the opportunity to give it all we have and we back away, we become tentative, we hesitate.  Are we ready to leave it all on the "mountain", to not to back away and do the “hard” thing.  The thrill of victory great – better though, the attitude and the intent brought to the race.  Let’s leave our fears “on the "bus” and bring our best version of ourselves…. and the outcome by definition, will be great.

Loving life when I am just give it my all
