Make it interesting

On a journey, such as THPL, which consumes a lot of time, and where there is the potential for repetition, we run the risk of growing complacent, maybe even bored with the day to day challenges that we take on.  We can take them for granted and by the time we are at a very good level or a high level of frequency we start to lose interest.  It is not a pejorative statement but rather a statement of our need for variety to keep our interest.  There are many techniques that we can use to keep us interested and it is important to know this and to use it.  One example is the X (times) Y phenomenon.  *that is; I will do X numbers of activities (repetitions) in Y time (over some period of time).  There is something to be said for this type of goal setting.  I will read 50 books in 50 weeks; I will run ten miles a day for 100 days, I will donate two hours, of my time, each week to help with the Food Pantry.   So, the key is to engage this approach as much as we think is reasonable.  When we do this we will find that there is only positive that comes from this approach

Loving life when I make it interesting
