It would not be surprising to any of us on our THPL journey to get on an overnight flight, the red-eye as it is called. A flight that takes off at night and lands in the morning. No hotel room, no shower, no nice wake-up call. Rather a seemingly efficient way to travel. Use up the night time to fly, get the whole day upon arrival, embrace the challenge because the return on “time” is a good one. And having taken a fair share of these flights you learn that it is important to develop a strategy for how to embrace the red-eye and not be victimized by it. The strategy can be different for each of us. Some fall asleep instantly, some moderate their rest and have breakfast on landing, others go for a run when they get to terra firma. It worked again today, landing from Manila, via Tokyo into Los Angeles a run and the day was reset, almost normal. Another example of how we can adapt and adjust even under tough circumstances, showing that THPL does indeed stretch us and in good ways, at that…..
