A different week

For as long as we all can remember weeks such as Thanksgiving week were all about prepping for food, family and fun.  We made plans to see friends, we tried to figure out where we should have dinner and what to eat, who we would be with, and how much time we would take off.  And then we hit the reality that is 2020.  We are told it is not safe to travel, that big gatherings are not advisable, and that we should wear masks even at home.  With a bit of reflection, we can get our heads wrapped around our current circumstance – it is most likely a one-time occurrence, a time to take care and be careful, and then we can get back to our social lives in ways that we enjoy and are familiar.  For now, it is best that we heed the advice, have a different Thanksgiving week, and get ready for the next holiday season as it will be here before we realize it.
