Never has the world become so small. Our global community connected together in ways unimagined by most. The impact of what each of us does affecting not just those near us but those very far away. We need to listen to the advice given even if unnatural and uncomfortable. The better we “take our medicine” now the more likely we find a path back to some sense of normalcy sooner than later. Let’s not put a time horizon on the end of this pandemic lest we get disappointed if it goes on and on. The time till we know when it is “safe” will be the time that it takes based on all of our actions. It is sort of like wishing for the finish line in a long race to come sooner – they are where they are, and we get there when we do. The silver lining if there is one, is that we are all realizing that we are social creatures by nature. We like being with each other, when we lose the ability to congregate, we feel it way more than we might have ever acknowledged. So, let’s do all that we can to help and protect each other. Let’s know there is a path through this and that we will be back together again in restaurants, at parties, at work, in the park and so on. A short hiatus, on the scale of a lifetime, we can all handle it – it is, after all, our future we are talking about.
